Answer

Officials advise AI is embedded in most solutions in use at Inland Revenue; therefore, the amount spent specifically on AI cannot be calculated. Vendor pricing models often encompass the full suite of product features, without distinguishing between AI-enabled and non-AI functionality. Inland Revenue worked with an external vendor to co-design AI fluency training material for Inland Revenue staff during the 2024/25 financial year. The total spend was $75,750, excluding GST. The cost of time spent training staff is not held. AI tool-specific training was provided to contact centre staff for the Genesys conversation summarisation tool, for 30 minutes. The cost of time spent training staff is not held.
