Answer

I refer the Member to Table 1 for expenditure incurred by the Ministry of Justice in the 2025/26 financial year that has been specifically identified as relating to Artificial Intelligence (AI) costs. Broader AI enabled capability is typically delivered as part of wider digital investments and is not separately budgeted or reported as a distinct category of expenditure. I refer the Member to Table 2 for what I am advised Crown entities spent the following in the 2025/26 financial year on artificial intelligence, including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs.
