Question

  • Is the Minister confident that all government procurement rules were followed during the procurement process for contracts for Auckland home and community support, if not, why not?

Answered by

Hon Casey Costello

List MP · NZ First Party · Associate Minister of Health

Answer

I am advised that Health New Zealand's Audit & Assurance team did not identify any material procurement integrity issues in the areas they assessed. However, I am further advised the audit was not designed to confirm compliance with every applicable government procurement rule; it was focused on selected procurement-integrity controls and complaint themes, not a rule-by-rule compliance assessment.
