Question

  • Did any Ministers recuse themselves from cabinet consideration or declare a conflict or interest in relation to decisions taken over amendment papers to the Natural Environment Bill and Planning Bill?

Answered by

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon

Answer

Disclosures of information relating to Ministerial conflicts of interest are inherently confidential and not generally disclosed. This has been the approach of successive administrations, and I do not intend to depart from it. In order to maintain the confidentiality of Cabinet proceedings, it is not in the public interest to provide details of the discussions at Cabinet.
