Answer

I am advised that from 1 September 2021 to 1 September 2026, the Department of Conservation approved 58 mining access arrangements and declined two under delegated authority. In the previous comparative five-year period, from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2021, the Department of Conservation approved 47 access arrangements and declined one under delegated authority.
