Question

  • When, if at all, was the last time that support payments to help people move house, if any, were increased, if at all, and if so by how much?

Hon Louise Upston

Answer

The Accommodation Supplement maximum rates were last increased in April 2018. These increases had been agreed in 2017 by the previous government. For Housing Support Products, the payments to assist eligible people who are moving into new accommodation with the cost of tenancy bonds and accommodation costs in advance are linked to the actual costs that a person faces.
