Answer
I am advised that correspondence I have received or sent is not categorised by topic. Accordingly, the information requested is not available in an easily reportable format. It would not be a good use of taxpayer-funded staff’s time to collate and organise by topic a list of all correspondence. It would not be in the public interest to do so. However, I note that I receive feedback from a range of organisations and industry representatives regarding gas supply, energy security, and New Zealand's future energy needs, including industry associations. Some of the organisations referred to in these questions are industry associations, while others may be members of, endorse the views of, or participate in engagement led by those associations or industry representatives. I am further advised that the organisations listed have engaged with myself, the previous Energy Minister, or officials regarding gas supply and energy security. Collectively, they expressed concerns regarding gas availability and generally viewed LNG imports as a positive development for energy security. These views were reflected through correspondence and stakeholder engagement, including participation in a gas-user delegation coordinated by Optima Energy.
