Answer

In 2024, Officials provided advice on each local authorities’ financial position and ability to contribute co-funding for flood resilience projects, in support of the Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund investment decisions on co-investment opportunities alongside local authorities. As the proposed rates cap has not yet been implemented, how each council will manage implementation is unknown. Any decisions regarding council co-investment in future projects is a matter for each individual council to consider alongside their local priorities and financial circumstances.
