Question

  • When, if ever, has the Minister met with the NZ College of Midwives to discuss the risk of nitrates in South Island drinking water supplies to expectant mothers, foetuses, and babies?

Answered by

Hon James Meager

Member for Rangitata · National Party · Minister for the South Island

Answer

I have not met with the NZ College of Midwives on this issue. I expect drinking water across the South Island to be below the safe drinking level of 11.3 mg/L.
