Question

  • When did he first become aware that the trains-per-hour service levels initially anticipated for the City Rail Link would not be achieved at opening?

Answered by

Rt Hon Winston Peters

List MP · NZ First · Minister for Rail

Answer

It is not possible to provide a date, as these are detailed technical matters that have been discussed ad nauseum between KiwiRail, Auckland Council, NZTA, Auckland One Rail, the Ministry officials and so on. We have been aware for some time that officials planned a Day 1 CRL transition timetable which would ramp up over time.
