Further to the reply to written question 32030 (2026), how many of the 22 national interest assessments undertaken in the 2025/26 financial year related to transactions involving an investor 25 percent or more owned or controlled by a foreign government or a state-owned entity, and how many related to strategically important businesses?

Answer
I refer the Member to the attachment. The attachment shows the reason why the 22 national interest assessments were undertaken. These include the investor meeting the definition of a non-New Zealand government investor (NNZGI), the transaction involving a strategically important business (SIB) or the transactions being called in for a discretionary national interest assessment.
