Answer

The Events Boost Fund is a one-off, contestable fund of $10 million established to support the hosting and promotion of events across New Zealand in 2026. The fund closed for applications on 30 September 2025 and received 198 applications. The Government invested $7,745,000 from the Events Boost Fund across 38 events and marketing campaigns. All investments are published on MBIE's website at https://www.mbie.govt.nz/immigration-and-tourism/tourism/tourism-funding/events-boost-fund. The unallocated funding will be used for Round 3 of the Regional Tourism Boost Fund and for Events Boost Fund and Events Attraction Package evaluation purposes.
