I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the specialist training referred to was not initiated by this specific alleged incident, but was in progress at the time the alleged incident was identified. I am further advised by Oranga Tamariki that this specialist training is called ‘Managing and Responding to Deception and Manipulation’ and was jointly designed with the Department for Corrections for staff at both agencies. The training is delivered by the Department of Corrections.
