What support is the Government providing to Queenstown Lake District Council Mayor John Glover's Mayoral taskforce, around the transport congestion across Wakatipu Basin, and its objectives, if any?

At the time of responding, I am advised that NZTA has not been asked to be involved in the mayoral taskforce but note that it will continue to engage with Queenstown Lakes District Council and Otago Regional Council through existing planning, investment and delivery processes. The Queenstown Strategic Network Plan will help identify high-priority activities for the 2027 State Highway Investment Proposal and National Land Transport Programme processes, and it also points to further work on offline public transport, demand management, and alternative funding and financing options.
