What advice, if any, has he received about the impact of the current Vehicle Dimensions and Mass rules on the agricultural sector's efforts to maintain, if not boost farm productivity?

Answer
I have not received any specific advice on the impact of the current Vehicle Dimensions and Mass (VDAM) Rule on farm productivity. However, the Government is currently reviewing the VDAM Rule as part of its Land Transport Rule Reform Programme, and I receive updates on this work as required. While the review is not specifically focused on agricultural vehicles, the sector may benefit from changes being considered to reduce regulatory burden through streamlined requirements and processes. Public consultation on the next set of changes is expected in October 2026, with longer-term work continuing into 2027.
