Answer

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) seconds Ministry staff into the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) and the Offices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Trade and Investment, Minister for Climate Change and Minister of State for Trade and Investment. MFAT is in regular contact with these secondees on a range of matters relating to the foreign affairs portfolio. Secondees in DPMC are in regular contact with the Prime Minister and his office on matters relating to the foreign affairs portfolio.
