I am advised that MidCentral has implemented a range of actions to improve performance against the six hour emergency department health target. These actions include increasing nursing staff in the emergency department; progressing recruitment of additional senior medical and registrar positions, and expanding ED physical capacity to support improved flow for lower and moderate acuity patients.
