Answer

All 152 applications for consent were screened for national security risk. The 22 national interest assessments relate to applications where the transaction was a transaction of national interest, and a full national interest assessment was undertaken under section 19B of the Overseas Investment Act 2005 (Act) (or its predecessor). An additional 45 applications were granted consent after applying section 19A of the Act (stage one: initial national interest risk assessment), those being 20 $5 million plus house consents, 18 primary consents and seven production forestry consents.
