I refer the Member to the attachment. The attachment shows the number and percentage of consents granted in each financial year (1 July to 30 June) for which consideration remains withheld from the published decision summary, as at 6 August 2026. These figures were generated using AI-assisted searches of published decision summaries for the relevant periods. Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) acknowledges that, in the absence of a manual review, the figures may be subject to a margin of error. Where grounds exist to withhold consideration under section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the Official Information Act 1982, LINZ's practice is to withhold that information for a specified period, typically 3, 6, or 12 months. Accordingly, the figure reported for the 2025/26 financial year is expected to decrease significantly during the 2026/27 financial year as those withholding periods expire and the information is progressively released.
