Further to the attachment to question for written answer 32031 (2026), on what basis was the country of origin of the applicant withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982 in respect of the consent granted to Chanel International B.V. on 20 February 2026, and how many other consents granted in that financial year had the applicant's country of origin withheld on that ground?

Answer
The country of origin of the applicant was redacted under section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982 to protect the ultimate owners’ privacy. This information is not in the public domain, and the Applicant, and ultimate owners, have taken stringent measures to ensure this remains so. This is the only case where those grounds were used.
