Answer

Officials at the former Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga – Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (now part of the Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions & Transport, “the Ministry”) considered a wide range of information and data when assessing different options for the length of maximum repayment timeframes for retirement village residents’ capital sums. Information related to the debt facilities, cash reserves, or balance sheets of individual retirement village operators was not requested, as this would be commercially confidential.
