Answer

I am advised that the Electoral Commission sends an email prompting electors, where they have provided an email address, to make sure their details are correct when electoral correspondence is returned because it cannot be delivered to the elector's address. A further reminder email is sent if there is no response to the initial email after 14 days. If no response is received 14 days after the reminder, the person is moved to the dormant roll. The process was implemented in July 2021. As of 7 August 2026, 11,447 of the initial emails have been sent with 10,306 reminder emails sent.
