Answer

I am advised that NZTA has not committed additional funding to City and Regional Deal components specifically. Existing programmes and projects may be reflected in the Deals where relevant, but this does not create additional NZTA funding commitments. Any National Land Transport Fund funding for transport activities remains subject to the usual statutory processes, including State Highway Investment Proposal, Regional Land Transport Plan and National Land Transport Programme processes, and NZTA Board prioritisation and funding approval. For the 2027-2030 period, the relevant planning and allocation processes are only commencing, so no current funds have been allocated for that period. Therefore, NZTA does not hold up-to-date figures that would enable a reliable dollar value to be identified for previous or current National Land Transport Programme commitments that have been reflected in the Deals.
