How many fast-track approvals have been granted for projects in the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago districts, if any, and how many dwellings do those projects provide for in total / what infrastructure contributions are each required to make?

Answer
Two fast-track applications have been granted by Panels in Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago districts, as below: Homestead Bay: 2,800 allotments. No consent conditions require financial infrastructure contributions (development contributions are levied under the Local Government Act 2002, not the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024). Conditions require construction of local transport, water supply, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure. Ayrburn Screen Hub - Construction and operation of a film and television production facility on about 26 hectares of land between Arrowtown and Lake Hayes. A consent condition requires the applicant to negotiate a development agreement with Queenstown Lakes District Council to negotiate development contributions, which will then be levied under the Local Government Act 2002. Conditions also require the cost of various infrastructure upgrades to be borne by the applicant.
