Answer

On 14 August I announced that we are amending the Local Government Act 2002 to enable councils to set appropriate development contributions for fast-track projects, and to recover costs for infrastructure provided across council boundaries. This reflects the government's intent that growth should pay for growth. The amendment will be included as an amendment paper to the Local Government (System Improvements) Bill which we intend to pass this term.
