Answer

On 27 July 2026 I received a briefing from officials from the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on the security situation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. I have also received verbal updates from MOD and NZDF officials.
