Answer

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) does not currently use artificial intelligence to make automated approvals or operational decisions that are actioned without human oversight. MPI’s Artificial Intelligence Policy requires AI use to be subject to appropriate governance, approval, registration, risk management, and human oversight.
