Question

  • What was the total amount invoiced for non-ministerial use of Crown VIP vehicles in each of the last three financial years, and what amount was actually recovered in each year?

Answered by

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon

Member for Botany · National Party · Minister responsible for Ministerial Services

Answer

Under clause 2.1 of the Ministers Travel Services within New Zealand Determination 2023, a Minister may use a chauffeur-driven car arranged by VIP Transport at any time for any purpose, at the Minister’s discretion. There is no invoicing for this use and therefore no actual costs to recover.
