Answer
I am advised that if the proposed changes are adopted, the existing functions of the Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai Māori (NPAM) team would continue to be delivered with some changes to the way resources are organised and aligned within Assessment. This would include: • Retaining a team of nine (9) FTE, comprised of three Qualifications Development Facilitators - Māori Qualifications Services (MQS), five Assessment Leads and a Senior Coordinator – Assessment. This team would report to the current Manager NPAM position (1 FTE) which would be renamed National Assessment Manager. • Five (5) FTE currently employed in NPAM - three Kaiarataki Kaitakawaenga Aromatawai ā-Motu, one Kaikōkiri Kaupapa Māori and one Principal Advisor Assessment Capability role - would continue to perform their current functions, but would transfer into other specialist teams. • A further six (6) FTE currently employed in NPAM (five Assessment Leads and one Senior Assessment Coordinator) would be reassigned into other Assessment teams where their skills, knowledge, and experience would support the appropriate application of kaupapa Māori in developing, marking and moderating the new shared subjects.
