How much, if any, of the funding that was allocated for the delivery of additional social housing in Budgets 2024 and 2025 has been paid to Community Housing Providers so far and what providers, if any, received this funding?

Hon Chris Bishop

Answer
Community Housing Providers (CHPs) receive funding through several mechanisms including when social housing places are tenanted through IRRS or receiving an early stage operating supplement. As at June 2026, CHPs have around 15,500 active IRRS tenancies nationally. In accordance with Speaker's Ruling 210/6, it would require significant manual collation for officials to reconcile payments made to over 40 of those providers for over 2,150 social housing places funded through Budgets 2024 and 2025 in order to provide a breakdown for the member. I do not consider the time and expense of answering the member's question to be in the public interest.
