What consideration, if any, has he given to the supply of wild game to the domestic food market?
Answered by
Hon Andrew Hoggard
List MP · ACT Party · Minister for Food Safety
Answer
I am considering the supply of wild game for human consumption as part of recent work relating to homekill and recreational catch settings. I am aware that recreational catch cannot be traded, while wild game intended for sale must meet the relevant requirements of New Zealand's regulated animal products system before entering the domestic food market. I am not considering changing the prohibition on selling recreational catch.
