Answer

I am advised by the Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport that three water services delivery plans were not accepted – those plans being from Mackenze District Council, Waitaki District Council and the Chatham Islands Council. The plans were not accepted as they did not meet the requirements of the Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024. Amended plans have now been accepted from Mackenzie District Council and Waitaki District Council. Chatham Islands Council is required to resubmit an amended plan by 30 June 2028.
