Answer

Historically onshore and offshore Taranaki has been the focus of oil and gas exploration however data exists across a number of New Zealands on and offshore sedimentary basins. The density, quality and vintage of data varies significantly. This information is publiclly available to search, download or order at the NZP&M website. The Geodata Map, associated with the Geodata Catalogue online service, provides a map view of the distribution of data sets across New Zealand, onshore and offshore.
