  • Further to Written Question 30232 (2026), what measures of employment quality, if any, are considered when determining whether the employment services effectiveness and employment sustainability targets have been achieved?

Answered by

Hon Louise Upston

Member for Taupō · National Party · Minister for Social Development and Employment

Answer

I am further advised that no separate measures of employment quality are used in determining whether these targets have been achieved. The Ministry of Social Development’s primary focus is on supporting jobseekers into employment. The Ministry provides a range of recruitment products and services to assist employers in finding staff, including listing vacancies with the Ministry. To be accepted, a vacancy must be a lawful activity and comply with all relevant employment legislation.
