Answer

I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development has not undertaken a specific assessment of the impact of these performance measures on Māori, Pacific peoples, disabled people, people with health conditions, or solo parents. The measures referred to in response to WPQ 30232 (2026) are operational performance measures that support Regional Commissioners to monitor and manage the performance of their regions. These measures are intended to support continuous improvement in regional operational performance and are not designed to assess the impact of services, policies, or performance measures on population groups. The Ministry supports clients based on their eligibility and individual circumstances, regardless of the population group to which they belong. The focus of these operational measures is to help ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively for all clients, while supporting ongoing improvements to service delivery across regions.
