I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the Teacher’s Institute received School Onsite Training Programme (SOPT) funding for 152 initial teacher education places in 2026. This included 44 primary places and 108 secondary places. All initial teacher education providers applied for SOPT places according to their capacity.
