Answer

I am advised that in late 2025, Health New Zealand introduced nationally consistent guidelines for accessing community-referred ultrasound imaging. These guidelines include criteria covering women experiencing ovarian cancer symptoms. This has been enabled by the Government’s investment of $30 million in community referred radiology access in 2024. I am further advised that since February 2026, GPs, nurses and urgent care physicians have had access to a Goodfellow seminar online, provided by an Auckland based gynae-oncologist.
