Answer

Kāinga Ora advises me that the engagement by the Board Chair with the PSC occurred by phone over the 2 weeks from his commencement date on 4 June 2024 leading up to the letter sent on 19 June 2024. The Chair engaged the PSC leading up to the letter sent to the Chief Executive on 19 June 2024, as it is standard practice for Crown Entity boards to engage with the PSC on Chief Executive employment matters, to ensure consistency with the good employer obligations under the Crown Entities Act 2004 and the Commissions ongoing advisory role in this area. Verbal advice was sought and was provided consistent with this practice.
