Answered by

Rt Hon Winston Peters

List MP · NZ First · Minister for Rail

Answer

As announced on 17 July 2026: CentrePort Limited (that’s a port based in Wellington) is contributing $100 million, Port Marlborough (a port based in Picton) is contributing $110 million, and the New Zealand Transport Agency (an authority providing long-planned co-funding for the Dublin Street overbridge in Picton) is contributing $10 million. The taxpayer contribution for Ferry Holdings does not exceed $1.704 billion.
