Answer

On 2 March 2026, I received an email from Mayor Phil Mauger, Christchurch City Council, with an attached letter titled "2026 02 20 Minister for the South Island - Mayoral Joint Priorities", outlining priority projects and policy areas, including Mass Rapid Transit, and the support being sought. Subsequently, I directed my office to review the information and gather relevant context and input from the appropriate portfolios, to inform my advocacy role.
