Answer
The Tertiary Education Commission’s 2025/26 expenditure on remuneration (fees) for its Board of Commissioners will be published later this year in its Annual Report following auditing of financial statements within statutory timeframes. In accordance with clause 17 of Schedule 11 of the Education and Training Act 2020, I set the maximum fees payable to the governing councils of tertiary education institutions (TEIs). The actual fee levels are then determined by the individual councils up to this maximum level. I set the actual fees paid to the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology Council, the Industry Skills Boards and the former Workforce Development Councils. The fees paid in the 2025-26 financial year were paid from within each organisation’s baseline. The total remuneration for the 2025-26 financial year will be published in each organisation’s annual report.
