How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the carbon neutral government programme in the 2025/26 financial year?
Answered by
Hon Simon Watts
Member for North Shore · National Party · Minister of Local Government
Answer
The Water Services Authority spent $6,920 on a carbon audit during the 2025/26 financial year. The Local Government Commission is not covered by the direction that Crown Agents implement the carbon neutral government programme and did not therefore not budget any funding for the programme for the 2025/26 financial year. The Local Government Commission was hosted within the Department of Internal Affairs and its budget sat within Vote Internal Affairs which was administered by the Department. The Department is a participant in the carbon neutral government programme.
