How much in total, if any, is forecast to be spent on renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2026-27 financial year?
Answered by
Rt Hon Winston Peters
List MP · NZ First · Minister for Rail
Answer
The Minister's role is to make board appointments and approve individual fees in accordance with the relevant frameworks. However, the Minister does not hold detailed information on the forecasted total remuneration for Crown appointees for the 2026-27 financial year. Forecasting this expenditure is the responsibility of the respective departments, Crown entities, and other bodies under the Minister's responsibility. These entities are required to include such forecasts in their financial planning and reporting, which may be accessible through their publicly available documents or websites.
