Answer
In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I am advised for the 2023/24 financial year DPMC spent $85,812 on remuneration of Crown appointees for bodies it administers. The remuneration and expenses for the Commissioners of Intelligence Warrants are determined by the Remuneration Authority as set out in the Intelligence and Security Act 2017. For the 2023/24 financial year, the actual spend is available in DPMC’s annual report on page 54, which is published here: https://www.dpmc.govt.nz/sites/default/files/2024-10/dpmc-annual-report-2024.pdf.
