Answer

I am advised that detailed budgets are in the process of being finalised for both operating and capital expenditure for the 2026/27 financial year. I am further advised that the direct operational costs associated with the Carbon Neutral Government Programme, such as the emissions verification fee, will be met from baseline and are expected to be $0.03 million. This excludes staff costs relating to Corrections’ overall sustainability work. I am also advised that in relation to the Capital Plan, installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and boiler replacement programmes have been planned to continue, totalling $4.8 million for the 2026/27 financial year. There are no planned EV purchases during this period.
