Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and communities advises me that while they currently have 14 partnerships with Trade Academies, the following trades training partnerships have been discontinued since 1 January 2024: • Lytton High School, Gisborne • Weltec, Wellington • Springhill Prison, Te Kauwhata • Onehunga High, Auckland • Papamoa College, Tauranga. The reasons for discontinuing, where known, include: • Weltec in Wellington - could not deliver completed units and the cost to build “shells” was too much • Springhill Prison – Kāinga Ora moved away from retrofitting homes off-site to complete in-situ • Onehunga High – did not want to build complete units
