I am advised that Police has not prepared a standalone capability assessment report comparing the specialist capability of the Wellington Police Maritime Unit against alternative responders. However, Police analysed the capability of alternative maritime responders by discussing with Coastguard regarding its capability and capacity to respond to any additional service requests that may arise, feedback from maritime partner agencies, and Police's operational knowledge of partner capabilities through established working relationships and joint responses.
