Question

  • For how long, if at all, does the Ministry track whether a child placed into social housing through Priority One remains housed?

Answered by

Hon Tama Potaka

Member for Hamilton West · National Party · Associate Minister of Housing

Answer

The Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) is responsible for assessing eligibility for social housing, managing the social housing register and calculating the rent payable by social housing tenants. The Ministry does not 'track' social housing tenants.
