Hon Andrew Hoggard

List MP · ACT Party · Minister for Biosecurity

Answer

I am advised that Corbicula fluminea was first detected at Bob’s Landing in the Waikato River near Lake Karāpiro in May 2023, and is now found from Lake Maraetai to Tuakau. It was found in Lake Rotomanu, a small man-made lake in Taranaki, in November 2025. In these instances, the detections were made visually.
