Answer

I am advised that the Terrorist Designation Working Group (TDWG) provided policy advice on the designation of Jaish Al Adl (JAA) to the National Security Board on 4 and 29 May 2026, including a range of legal, foreign policy and national security factors. Ultimately, TDWG did not make a recommendation on whether to redesignate JAA, aside from noting that it would be legally permissible.
